Summary:
The purpose of the Floor Tech position is to keep the floors in good condition and assist in removing garbage from the building.
DUTIES AND
Responsibilities:
The following represents the essential functions of the Floor Tech's role.
This list is intended to be a general description of duties and responsibilities; however, it is subject to change according to the needs of the facility determined by the Regional Supervisor or corporate designee.
o Floor techs use equipment to sweep, mop, buff, wax, and vacuum facility flooring.
o Floor techs assist in removing trash from the facility to outdoor trash receptacles/ dumpsters.
o Floor techs may assist maintenance in moving office or resident items around the building when needed.
o Floor techs will make sure equipment is in good working order with resident and employee safety in mind.
o Floor techs will make sure hallways passable, free from cords, and proper signage is used to indicate wet floors.
o Floor techs will inform supervisor of any issues or hazards with regards to their duties or equipment.
o Floor techs will maintain stock of supplies needed to properly clean the floors- chemicals, scrubbing pads, vacuum filters, etc.
o Floor tech safely stores chemicals and equipment.
o Floor tech may report maintenance issues either in the log or if the pose an immediate danger to Maintenance Supervisor or the Administrator.
o Floor techs may assist in cleaning up accidental spills or messes as they arise.
o Floor techs may contribute to resident care planning.
o Floor Techs may assist with tasks for residents putting batteries in remotes or plugging call lights/ beds back in.
o Must act in ways that promote professional and positive representation of the facility to the community.
o Communicates in a professional and courteous manner using effective verbal and non-verbal communication skills with residents, their families, co-workers, and vendors.
o Maintains confidentiality of department, resident, employee information, communication, and documentation as well as compliance with the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) regulations.
o Attends in-service training as requiredo Clocks in and out for all working/training hours.
Working off the clock will not be permitted at any time or for any reason.
o Maintain compliance with Legacy's Compliance program and plan.
o Adhere to Legacy's Code of Conduct and Dress Code.
o These duties are not all-inclusive but provide minimum performance expectations which will be reviewed in the evaluation process.
Supervisor may edit, alter, add to, or exclude duties and responsibilities based on the needs of the facility.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE/REQUIREMENTS:

Minimum
Qualifications:
Freedom from illegal use of drugs.
Freedom from use and effects of drugs and alcohol in the workplace.
Anyone found guilty by a court of law of abusing, neglecting or mistreating individuals in a health care related setting are ineligible for employment in the position.
Education and/or
Experience:
Experience with floor cleaning equipment/ housekeeping is preferred.
LTC experience preferred Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
None Recommended Skills Batteries Communication Confidentiality Conflict Management Housekeeping Maintenance Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
